Interview Questions

So, your second album as 5GB has been pushed straight to number one, how do you feel?
Bobby: It's odd, we'll walk down the street and just see our faces on everywhere. It's like it shouldnt be happening.
Shane: Speak for yourself, I've been dreaming of this moment since I first picked up a guitar. It's like it was meant to be to be honest.
Tommy: I'm with Shane, this is the moment I have been waiting for, for years. I feel exstatic for the fact that my dream is finally a reality.

How is are you finding your sudden overnight fame?Callum: we're just loving every moment of it. We've never experienced anything like it before, girls are lying down infront of our cars so we cant go anywhere!
Daniel: The fans are so supportive of us already, they are everywhere we go! It's like one day we were average people, the next we had girls throwing themselves at us and screaming our names.
Tommy: Sometimes we will be sat in our hotel room and realise Callum isnt there. We'll then go out into the hall way to see him hanging out the window waving to all the screaming girls. He isnt even their favourite, cheeky sod.

Haha, sounds like you get up to lots already. So, if callum isnt the favourite of the band. Who is?Shane: In my opinion, its deffinatly Bobby, everywhere we go you'll hear the drones of his name being screamed.
(Bobby Gives a cheeky smile)
Daniel: I agree, Bobby is seen as the heart throb out of all of us.

Sounds like Bobby has a lot of choice. So, any plans for an upcoming tour?
Callum: No, Unfortuantly not. We are hoping to plan one soon though, only small venues so we can see how they go.
Shane: Forget the small ones, I wanna go straight for the big things.
Tommy: Yeah, I wanna go straight for the big things.
Callum: Alright you guys, reality check.

I think the small venues are best to start off with boys. Where would you see yourselves in 5 years time?
Bobby: In my eyes im dreaming we hit America. America's where i wanna be. Boys?
Daniel: 100% agreeing with you there Bob! That's the one country I want to break!
Tommy: I'd love to make it into America, that's when you know you've properly made it.

America seems like a big dream boys! What about your old UK fans?
Callum: We could never forget the people that got us here in the first place, we'd be nothng without them. So obviously we'd have to remember where we came from!
Shane: Thats true, if we make it super big, I'll be thanking the UK fans individuallu!
(Group all chuckle)

Sounds like you are all having fun with your new found fame! Hopefully we'll be able to get another interview when you make it big in America!
Bobby: Definitley! We'll be calling you!

Evaluation question 4. Who would be the audience for your media product? How would you address/attract your audience?

Evaluation question 3. What have you learnt about technologies from constructing your product?

Evaluation question 2. What kind of media institution may distribute your product and why?

For distribution of my media product I would use Bauer. This is because, through research they have done many well known magazines, and publish a popular music magazine called 'Rolling Stone'. Because of the high popularity of this rock music magazine, it means that this company have a high reputation for people who may want to read such music magazines. This means if they were to distribute another music magazine, Keep Up would fit in and people would have the same hopes of it as they do with Rolling stone.
I would stay away from other distribution companies such as BBC Magazines and the National Magazine Company. This is because, the BBC Magazines company only distribute magazines that have a focus on things to do with the BBC  For example, the BBC air top of the pops, and the only music magazine that they distribute is Top Of The Pops. Meaning that my rock/indie music magazine is less likely to fit in with these sort of categories, especially because Keep Up has no involvement with the BBC. Also, I wouldn't choose distributors such as the National Magazine Company because they distribute cooking/mother and baby/health magazines which means that Keep Up being a music magazine would not fit in with their kind of genres. This means that because Bauer are currently selling a popular music magazine, that they will already have the audience that I am after. Whereas other distributors do not meaning that the magazine may not be as popular as I would've hoped.
I have gone for a distributor that has experience in dealing with selling music magazines so therefore is known within the industry. My magazine is less likely to fit in with Conde Nast as they are more of fashion type magazines. Although there would be a high possibility of gaining a new audience if I was to choose a distributor such as BBC magazines and Conde Nast, the audience that they attract is not the type that I am aiming for, meaning that there would have to be a lot of advertisement to try and get my magazine known. But if I went for Bauer, the magazine would be known if next to a popular magazine such as Rolling Stone.

Here are some examples of what Bauer publish:
